Flexible. Hours vary based on hotel operational needs, including breakfast shifts (5:00 AM to 11:00 AM) and front desk shifts (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM), weekends, holidays, and special events. Position Summary The Cross-Trained Hotel Associate is responsible for providing excellent guest service while performing duties in both the Breakfast Attendant and Front Desk Agent roles. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt to changing hotel needs. Team members will be trained in both departments and may be scheduled in either role based on occupancy levels, staffing requirements, and business demands. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Breakfast Attendant Duties (5:00 AM to 11:00 AM) Set up, prepare, and maintain the hotel breakfast area before service begins. Ensure food and beverage items are stocked, replenished, and presented according to hotel standards. Monitor breakfast inventory and notify management of replenishment needs. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the breakfast area, kitchen, dining room, and equipment. Follow all local health department regulations and food safety practices. Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and assist with breakfast-related requests. Remove trash, clean tables, and keep the dining area organized throughout service. Properly close and clean the breakfast area at the end of service. Front Desk Agent Duties (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) Welcome guests and provide exceptional customer service during check-in and check-out. Process reservations, room assignments, and payment transactions accurately. Answer phones and respond to guest inquiries professionally and promptly. Resolve guest concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary. Maintain accurate guest records and complete shift reports. Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments regarding guest needs and room status. Follow cash handling, credit card, and hotel security procedures. Promote hotel amenities and assist guests with local information and recommendations. General Responsibilities Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude at all times. Work effectively with team members across multiple departments. Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Maintain attendance and punctuality standards. Complete additional duties assigned by management. Be willing to learn new responsibilities and assist in other areas of hotel operations as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hotel, customer service, food service, or hospitality experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel management software. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work in both office and food service environments. Schedule Expectations This is a cross-trained position. Employees should expect varying schedules and may be assigned breakfast shifts, front desk shifts, or a combination of both based on business needs. Schedule flexibility is a condition of employment and is essential to the success of this role.
