Job Description

Sunny Maui Vacations | Kihei, Maui Sunny Maui Vacations is a boutique vacation rental management company serving properties throughout South Maui. We are a close knit, structured operation with a strong focus on hospitality, property care, responsive service, and professional communication. We are looking for a smart, energetic, service minded individual to join our team on a part time basis. You should enjoy both people and logistics. This position supports our morning and daytime operation with two important responsibilities: championing service orders and incoming guest calls , while also assisting with the day to day needs of our guests and properties. Position & Schedule Part time, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week to start Primary availability needed during morning and afternoon operations Weekend availability is required Holiday availability based on business needs No overnight or after hours shifts Opportunity to grow into a full time position for the right candidate Compensation & Benefits $28 to $30 per hour , based on experience and qualifications Medical and dental benefits available if eligibility requirements are met based on hours worked Service Orders & Problem Solving A significant part of this role is taking ownership of service orders from beginning to end. This is more than assigning a task to a vendor. It requires understanding what needs to happen, determining the priority, selecting the appropriate service provider, communicating clearly, coordinating access, following up, and continuing to move the issue forward until it is fully resolved. You may be coordinating anything from a routine repair to an urgent leak at an occupied property. Priorities can change quickly, and good judgment matters. Every decision must balance guest experience, property care, urgency, cost, and our responsibility to the property owner. We are looking for someone who thinks logically, acts with good judgment, follows through, and is comfortable making sound decisions as circumstances evolve. Guest & Owner Communication You will be one of the first people answering incoming telephone calls during the morning hours. Calls may come from a prospective guest considering a reservation, an arriving guest with a question, an in house guest needing assistance, a property owner, a vendor, or someone calling because something has gone wrong. You do not need to immediately know every answer. You do need to be polished, professional, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of finding the answer. Every telephone call and every in person interaction is a connection point with our company. How we communicate matters. Out & About This is not exclusively a desk position. Depending on the needs of the day, you may visit a vacant or occupied property, assist a guest in person, check that a property is properly prepared, troubleshoot a television or WiFi connection, deliver something a guest needs, meet a service provider, or handle a last minute property request. Most days have structure and a planned list of priorities. At the same time, vacation rental operations require flexibility. A guest need or property issue can quickly change what requires attention first. You should be comfortable adjusting, reprioritizing, and then returning to the original tasks without losing track of what still needs to be completed. What We Are Looking For This position requires someone who is: Logical and a strong problem solver. You can assess a situation, determine what needs to happen next, and continue working through it until it is resolved. Service and hospitality minded. You understand that how something is handled is often as important as the solution itself. Polished and professional. You communicate confidently and appropriately with guests, property owners, vendors, and coworkers. Resourceful. Not knowing an answer does not stop you from figuring out how to find it. Organized and accountable. You can manage several open items, follow up, and make sure tasks reach completion. Flexible and quick thinking. You can move comfortably from a routine task to an urgent situation and reprioritize when necessary. Energetic and engaged. You enjoy being productive, taking responsibility, and getting things accomplished. Comfortable with technology. We are particularly interested in someone who is curious about artificial intelligence and how technology can improve processes, communication, organization, and efficiency. Qualifications Previous professional work experience is required. Two or more years of hotel, resort, guest services, front desk, concierge, vacation rental, or similar hospitality experience is preferred. A degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Travel and Tourism, or a related field is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong telephone presence and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Reliable cellular phone. Kihei or immediate South Maui residence strongly preferred. Familiarity with South Maui. Comfortable using computers and learning new systems. Weekend availability is required. The Right Fit We are looking for someone who sees both the immediate task and the bigger picture. If a guest calls with a problem, you think about how to help the guest. If a property needs attention, you think about what needs to happen, who should handle it, how urgently it needs to happen, what it should reasonably cost, and whether it was actually completed. You follow through. You can handle the predictable parts of the day efficiently while remaining ready for the unpredictable ones. You understand professional hotel and resort standards of communication and service, while enjoying the more personal, flexible environment of a boutique vacation rental company. When you notice that a repetitive process could be organized, communicated, or completed more effectively, you are curious enough to think about how it could be improved. We can teach our properties, systems, and procedures. Common sense, sound judgment, energy, reliability, adaptability, and genuine hospitality are much harder to teach.
