Hotel, Motel, and Resort Desk Clerks Pay Range:

$15.50 per hour

Position Summary Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Dearborn is seeking a Guest Experience Specialist to provide exceptional service throughout each guest's stay. The Guest Experience Specialist performs duties that go beyond a traditional front desk position. Employees in this role help create a positive and memorable hotel experience by assisting with check-in and check-out, responding to guest requests, addressing operational needs, completing reports, providing information about the local area, and supporting other guest-service activities throughout the hotel. The position requires a guest-first mindset, professionalism, flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to take ownership of the overall guest experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide professional, friendly customer service. Assist guests with hotel check-in and check-out processes. Respond promptly to guest questions, concerns, and service requests. Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and policies. Provide recommendations and information regarding restaurants, attractions, transportation, and local-area activities. Assist guests throughout their stay and help resolve service issues. Process operational and guest-service transactions. Complete reports and required hotel documentation. Communicate guest needs and concerns to appropriate hotel departments. Assist with food or meal delivery when required. Maintain awareness of activities taking place throughout the hotel. Move throughout guest and common areas to identify and respond to guest needs. Help create a welcoming and positive environment for hotel guests. Protect guest confidentiality and company information. Protect Marriott property and company assets. Follow hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures. Follow Marriott policies, procedures, and service standards. Maintain professional communication with guests, coworkers, and hotel leadership. Maintain proper uniform, grooming, and personal appearance standards. Complete additional reasonable duties as assigned by management. Guest Service Responsibilities The Guest Experience Specialist is expected to take ownership of the guest experience rather than remain solely at a traditional front desk. Employees may assist guests in different areas of the hotel and should be prepared to: Identify guest needs and provide appropriate assistance. Resolve routine guest concerns. Coordinate with other hotel departments. Provide local-area information and recommendations. Assist with operational needs. Complete guest-related transactions. Deliver food or other requested items when necessary. Help ensure guests receive timely and professional service throughout their stay. Required /

Physical requirements may include:

Standing for extended periods. Walking throughout the hotel. Sitting as needed. Moving throughout guest-service and common areas. Bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Reaching overhead and below the knees. Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Work Environment This position is performed in an active hotel environment and requires regular interaction with guests, coworkers, supervisors, and other hotel departments. Guest Experience Specialists must maintain a professional appearance and communication style while providing service in public guest areas.

Compensation Minimum Wage:

$15.50 per hour
