POSITION SUMMARY
The Front Desk Agent is the face of The Lafayette Hotel — the first and last impression for every guest who walks through our doors. This role requires warmth, professionalism, and sharp attention to detail as you manage arrivals, departures, and the full spectrum of guest needs throughout the stay. You'll represent a property with real history and a genuine commitment to personal, unhurried service.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome guests with genuine hospitality at arrival, check-in, and departure Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations accurately in the PMS Handle cash, credit card, and direct-bill transactions; maintain a balanced drawer Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with urgency and care Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance on room status and guest needs Communicate room availability and rates effectively, upselling when appropriate Maintain knowledge of hotel services, local attractions, and dining options Manage guest folios and ensure accurate billing at check-out Handle incoming calls and assist with concierge requests Maintain lobby cleanliness and presentation during shifts Complete all shift checklists, log entries, and handoff communication accurately Follow all safety, security, and emergency procedures Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION
Customer-facing hospitality > Prior hotel, restaurant, retail or other customer service experience Availability for morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts > Flexible scheduling availability Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills > Calm, solution-first approach in difficult situations with a desire to make people happy Basic math skills and cash handling accuracy > Ability to balance personal finance, prior professional experience, or education Consistent attendance and ability to focus throughout a shift, up to eight hours > Demonstrated work history; punctual with reliable means of transportation, personal or public
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for 6-8 hours; lift up to 30 lbs; navigate lobby and back-of-house spaces.
