You'll sort incoming deliveries, scan them into our system, and get everything to the right person or department without much delay. Some days barely register. Other days a big shipment shows up out of nowhere and you're sorting nonstop until the pile clears. You'll also pull together outgoing mail, schedule courier pickups, and keep the mailroom itself from turning into a mess. We typically see a second wave of activity in the early afternoon, so pacing yourself across the day helps. It's steady, routine-driven work, and that suits people who like knowing roughly what to expect each shift. Responsibilities Sorting incoming deliveries by recipient or department Scan items into the tracking system as they arrive Getting mail to the correct desks or mailboxes Preparing outgoing shipments and booking courier pickups Keeping the mailroom stocked with envelopes, boxes, and labels Straightening up the mailroom between deliveries Fielding questions from staff about mail that hasn't shown up Alerting security to anything damaged or suspicious-looking Qualifications You keep track of small details, which matters when a lot of mail comes through and it all needs to land in the right place. Good communication skills help when someone stops by asking where their delivery went. You're comfortable using basic computer software to log and track packages throughout the day. If a large shipment throws off the rhythm of the day, you're able to stay organized and work through it methodically. Being reliable matters here, since the whole building depends on mail showing up when it's supposed to. You're easy to get along with, which helps on the days staff are in and out of the mailroom checking on things. A positive attitude counts for a lot when the workload piles up unexpectedly. You're willing to pick up the specific way this building likes its mail handled.
