Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our extended-stay hotel team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will serve as the primary overnight point of contact for our long-term and short-term guests, while handling the nightly financial reconciliation and reporting essential to hotel operations. This position suits a self-motivated individual who values accuracy, discretion, and building rapport with guests who consider our property a home away from home. Responsibilities Perform nightly audit procedures, including reconciling daily revenue, verifying transactions, and balancing accounts across all departments Prepare and distribute accurate end-of-day and end-of-week financial reports for management review Process guest check-ins and check-outs during overnight shifts, including extended-stay and weekly/monthly billing arrangements Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly, providing attentive service tailored to guests staying for extended periods Answer and manage multi-line phone systems, including reservations for both short-term and extended-stay guests Monitor building security and safety during overnight hours, reporting incidents according to established procedures Maintain accurate guest folios and records within the hotel property management system (PMS), including recurring or long-term billing cycles Coordinate with housekeeping on schedules for units occupied by long-term guests Prepare the front desk and lobby for the morning shift, including reports, cash drawer balancing, and handoff notes Resolve billing discrepancies, folio adjustments, and account postings prior to shift end Support a quiet, home-like atmosphere for guests during overnight hours Requirements Previous experience in night audit, front desk, or hotel accounting preferred; extended-stay experience a plus Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliation processes Proficiency with hotel property management system (Agilysys, Fosse) preferred Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly with recurring billing and long-term guest accounts Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment overnight with minimal supervision Strong verbal and written communication skills, with professional phone etiquette Ability to build rapport with long-term guests while maintaining professionalism and discretion Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or accounting coursework a plus Schedule Full-time, overnight shift (typically 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Weekend and holiday availability required
