The Gardner is a historic independent hotel and hostel in downtown El Paso, operating since 1922. We're growing and looking for dependable, personable team members to join us as we continue improving the guest experience and expanding what we offer. This isn't a large chain hotel where you're just a number behind a desk. We're a small team, so we're looking for someone who enjoys people, takes ownership of their shift, notices when something needs attention, and is comfortable working independently. What you'll do Welcome guests, complete check-ins and check-outs, answer questions, and assist with reservations Learn our Cloudbeds property-management system and accurately handle guest accounts, payments and deposits Learn the history of The Gardner and be able to share it with interested guests—we're proud of our 100+ year history Answer phones, messages and guest inquiries professionally Help guests with recommendations and information about downtown El Paso Monitor the property and guest needs during your shift Complete shift responsibilities, cash handling and handoffs accurately Help keep the lobby and front-desk area guest-ready Communicate maintenance, housekeeping and guest issues clearly to the next shift and management Assist with our growing guest offerings, including our new beer-and-wine service and other hotel amenities Overnight team members will complete overnight procedures and must be comfortable working independently during late-night hours Who we're looking for We're much more interested in finding the right person than simply filling a shift. You should be dependable, friendly, comfortable talking with all kinds of people, able to stay calm when several things happen at once, and willing to learn. Hospitality or customer-service experience is helpful, but we'll train the right person. Reliability and attitude matter enormously to us. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. You should also be comfortable using computers, learning new software, handling money accurately, and working without constant supervision. Schedule & pay We are currently looking for team members with flexible availability, including approximately 2-3 overnight shifts per week, as well as other front-desk shifts as needed.

Regular front-desk/guest-services rate:

$12/hour Employees regularly assigned overnight/night-audit coverage: $13/hour Weekend and holiday availability is important in hospitality. Please include your complete availability when applying.
