Job Description

The Ramada by Wyndham St. George hotel is hiring for a Front Desk Agent / Guest Ambassador. Must be available to work 3:00 P.M.-11:00 P.M. Friday through Monday, hours may be flexible depending on season .
Position Pays:

Primary Responsibilities Manage reservation requests via phone, fax, e-mail, and transient Walk-Ins Register guests and accommodate special requests Handle cash and credit card deposits and payments Use suggestive selling skills to upsell rooms and services Coordinate with other departments to prepare rooms, address maintenance issues, and fulfill guest requests Maintain front desk, lobby, office, meeting space, and public areas to ensure they are clean, tidy, and inviting Assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures Facilitate group arrivals and departures, meeting space rentals, and special events Demonstrate concierge-like knowledge of St. George and the surrounding area Be aware of local events, attractions, and activities Minimum Qualifications Must speak, read, write in, and understand the primary language used in the workplace and used by guests who visit the hotel. At our hotel, English is the primary language. High school graduate or equivalent. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Working knowledge of desktop computers running Windows 7/10 and Internet Explorer/Edge, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), WiFi technology, landline phone, office equipment/technology (print, scan, copy, fax, e-mail). Experience in a related industry is preferred. Ideal Qualifications (but not requirements) Foreign language proficiency (Spanish, German, Chinese, or Japanese) Associate degree in hospitality, business, or a related field Working knowledge of multi-line office phone systems Detailed functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google Reviews Physical demands of the position: Writing, prolonged standing (up to 8 hours), sitting, walking, repetitive motions, speaking, hearing ability, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
