Job Description
Front Desk Clerk Job Overview We are seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Front Desk Clerk to join our hotel team. The Front Desk Clerk is often the first point of contact for our guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and positive guest experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, a professional appearance and attitude, and the ability to remain calm and helpful in a fast-paced environment. Previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner. Check guests in and out of the hotel efficiently and accurately. Assist guests with questions, requests, and general hotel information. Provide excellent customer service throughout the guest's stay. Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally, respectfully, and promptly. Identify solutions to guest issues and follow through to ensure concerns are resolved. Answer and direct phone calls and respond to guest inquiries. Make and maintain fresh coffee and assist with basic lobby refreshments. Keep the front desk, lobby, and work areas clean, organized, and presentable. Monitor and maintain a welcoming atmosphere in the lobby. Assist guests with directions, local recommendations, and other reasonable requests. Process payments and maintain accurate guest and reservation information. Follow hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards. Communicate effectively with housekeeping and other hotel departments regarding guest needs and room status. Maintain confidentiality and handle guest information appropriately. Complete other front desk and hotel-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude. Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team. Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel systems. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy environment. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
