Santa Maria, California Compensation:

We are seeking an energetic and hands-on General Manager to lead the opening and ongoing success of our new Holiday Inn Express in Santa Maria, California. This role oversees all departments and is accountable for guest satisfaction, associate engagement, revenue growth, profitability, brand compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing hotel team. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture. Lead by example and maintain a strong presence throughout the hotel. Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for results. Recognize and reward outstanding performance. Create development opportunities that support career growth and advancement. Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and applicable employment laws. People First. TEAM = Family. Build an environment where associates feel valued, Empowered , and supported in reaching their full potential. Guest Experience Champion exceptional guest service throughout the hotel. Monitor guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, service, and overall hotel presentation. Drive guest satisfaction scores and online reputation performance. Service Driven. Every interaction matters from guests and associates to vendors and community partners. Financial & Business Performance Drive revenue growth and profitability through effective business planning and execution. Manage budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, and expense controls. Analyze financial performance and implement action plans to achieve goals. Maximize market opportunities and hotel performance through strategic decision-making. Maintain strong financial accountability and ownership of hotel results. Own It. Treat the hotel's success as your own and lead with accountability for results. Sales & Community Engagement Support local sales efforts and revenue-generating initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, tourism partners, and civic groups. Promote the hotel within the community and strengthen brand presence. Identify opportunities to grow market share and increase hotel visibility. Operations & Compliance Ensure compliance with all IHG brand standards, safety requirements, and company policies. Oversee hotel maintenance, security, and operational readiness. Ensure team members receive appropriate training and development. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and employees. Respond effectively to operational challenges and emergency situations. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 360° Perspective. Make decisions that balance the needs of guests, associates, ownership, and long-term business success. Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of hotel management experience in a leadership role. Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence. Experience managing hotel financial performance, labor, and budgets. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Proficiency with hotel management systems and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with IHG-branded hotels. Brand standards Sales experience for closing deals New hotel opening experience is highly desirable. What Makes a Successful Candidate?
