Job Summary:
The Sales & Conference Services Manager is responsible for both generating new group business and flawlessly servicing contracted events. This highly visible position serves as the client's trusted advisor throughout the entire event lifecycle—from prospecting and proposal development through planning, execution, billing, and post-event follow-up. The ideal candidate is equally passionate about sales, event planning, client relationships, and operational excellence. They possess a luxury hospitality mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to anticipate guest needs while maximizing revenue opportunities. Success in this role requires collaboration across every department to ensure every meeting, retreat, wedding, and special event reflects the Kindred Resort brand promise.

Conference Services & Event Planning Solicit and close catering sales groups Conduct site tours Lead BEO meetings and serve as the central point of contact Serve as the primary point of contact after contract signature through event departure. Lead all planning calls, pre-convention meetings, and client communications. Coordinate meeting space assignments, rooming lists, VIP arrivals, transportation, dining experiences, recreation, wellness programming, and special requests. Create and distribute detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), Event Resumes, Group Resumes, floor plans, and production schedules. Ensure seamless communication between Sales, Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Spa, Recreation, Security, and third-party vendors. Conduct final client walkthroughs and remain visible during program execution. Manage billing accuracy, master accounts, concessions, and post-event reconciliation. Complete post-event follow-up while identifying future business opportunities. Revenue & Financial Management Maximize revenue through strategic upselling and enhancement recommendations. Monitor room block performance, pickup, attrition, and meeting space utilization. Forecast catering and event revenue accurately. Ensure event profitability while maintaining luxury service standards. Maintain accurate documentation within Delphi and related systems. Support departmental revenue goals and overall resort profitability. Leadership & Collaboration Foster strong partnerships across all resort departments. Participate in daily operations meetings, event reviews, and leadership discussions. Champion Kindred Resort's luxury service standards and guest experience philosophy. Mentor operational teams on event expectations and guest preferences. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
As a member of the opening leadership team, this role will help establish the long-term operational foundation for conference services by: Developing Conference Services and Catering Standard Operating Procedures. Building Delphi workflows, templates, and event standards. Creating Banquet Event Order templates and operational documentation. Establishing planning timelines and communication standards. Partnering with Operations to develop luxury event service standards. Supporting departmental training initiatives. Assisting with opening events and operational readiness. Helping create one of Colorado's premier luxury meetings destinations. Required Minimum three years of hotel conference services, catering, or group sales experience. Experience managing corporate meetings, executive retreats, incentive travel, or luxury social events. Strong understanding of banquet operations, catering, and hotel operations. Demonstrated success in sales, relationship management, and event execution. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced luxury environment. Strong financial acumen with experience forecasting revenue and managing event budgets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Luxury hotel or resort experience. Delphi, Delphi FDC, Amadeus, Opera Cloud, or comparable hotel systems. Knowledge of mountain resort operations and destination meetings. Experience with weddings and high-end social events. CMP, CPCE, or other hospitality certifications. The expected pay range is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
