Job Summary:

The Bistro Supervisor oversees daily kitchen operations within the Courtyard by Marriott Bistro, ensuring high-quality food preparation, efficient workflow, and adherence to brand standards. This position plays a hands-on role in cooking, training, and guiding the culinary team while maintaining a safe and clean working environment. The Bistro Cook Supervisor is expected to lead by example, providing excellent service and supporting a culture of hospitality. Key Responsibilities Supervise and participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all food items according to Marriott brand recipes and standards. Lead and train Bistro cooks and food prep staff, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and adherence to safety and sanitation policies. Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of products. Oversee kitchen cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage daily prep lists and delegate responsibilities to team members. Ensure timely food service during breakfast, dinner, and bar service hours. Assist with scheduling, labor control, and maintaining food cost goals. Handle guest inquiries or concerns in a professional, service-focused manner. Support the Food & Beverage Manager in developing new menu items or seasonal offerings. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment that reflects Marriott service standards. Qualifications Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a hotel, restaurant, or food service environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and coach team members to achieve high performance. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs. for extended periods. Comfortable working in high-paced kitchen environments.
