General Manager Choice Branded Hotel We are a limited-service 75+ room property located in NC looking to have an energetic and motivated individual join our team as the General Manager (GM). Under the direction of the owner the GM oversees the Front Desk, Sales and Maintenance Departments. The GM ensures that all policies and procedures are followed in order to uphold company standards.
SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Hotel business experience MUST on Choice Hotels properties (Sleep Inn, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites etc) Associates Degree or equivalent years of experience required. Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager highly preferred. 5+ years of supervisory experience required. Accounting or financial experience highly preferred. Prior experience using Windows-based software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook highly preferred. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Good decision maker. Ability to work independently. Superior customer service skills. Excellent communication skills. May be required to travel. Able to work a flexible schedule.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Management/Supervisory Directly supervises the hotel staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing work, and appraising performance of employees. Also tasked with resolving employee relations issues and rewarding/disciplining associates. Oversees the activities of all staff members in order to ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures. Reviews all departmental schedules for accuracy and staffing demands. Conducts or provides assistance in conducting all weekly, quarterly, and annual meetings. Assists General Manager in annual salary review and ensures that all employee wages follow federal, state, and local wage and hour guidelines. Performs functions of the General Manager in his or her absence. Financial Responsibilities and Forecasting Responsible for completing weekly summary reports for the Owner. Maintains accurate records of hotels funds and information including, but not limited to, the cash flow sheet, accounts receivable and payable, credit card receipts, and registration information. Responsible for hotel payroll administration. Assists in the preparation of the yearly and quarterly budgets as well as the annual marketing plan. Guest Service Offer guests assistance whenever possible. Responsible for resolving escalated customer relations issues. Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services. Must appropriately address guest requests to ensure customers are satisfied with the hotel's services and accommodations. Responsible for positively representing and promoting the property. Ensures systems and procedures are in place and followed for guest safety and security. Other Duties as Assigned Fills in for vacant shifts as needed.
