Job Description

Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa is the premier upscale pet resort with three locations in the greater Boston area and three locations in the greater Cincinnati area. Red Dog is seeking a dynamic candidate with a "can do" attitude for the Resort Operations Manager position at our Springdale location. This position provides support to team members and promotes a professional and caring image of Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa through high work standards. . Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the resort
  • Works a rotating five day week - includes weekends, holidays and evenings/nights; available by phone and e-mail to answer emergency questions
  • Acts as coach and/or mentor to staff members to promote team work and interdepartmental cooperation
  • Fully investigates significant breakdowns in Company policies/procedures/processes to identify problem area(s) and correct the problem(s) in partnership with Regional Operations Manager
  • Resolves customer complaints in a professional and timely manner while ensuring customer retention
  • Ensures payroll is complete, accurate and information is forwarded to the Payroll Department within Company deadlines
  • Submits monthly reports within approved time guidelines to the Finance Department and Director of Operations
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and overseeing training of all new resort employees
  • Conducts quarterly staff meetings for all departments
  • Ability to train new employees on company software; ability to troubleshoot problems within the system
  • Responsible for coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions and terminations as needed; forwards to HR and Director to ensure all HR standards are met before presenting to employee
  • Assists new employees with new hire paperwork and insurance enrollment; forwards appropriate paperwork to Human Resources/Payroll/Benefits at the Corporate office within approved time guidelines
  • Approves employee requests for time off; enters into payroll software within approved time guidelines
  • Oversees staff training to ensure employees are kept up to date with policies and procedures; ability to conduct training on as needed basis
  • Attends and participates in weekly resort manager conference calls
  • Conducts resort tours for visitors and new clients
  • Assists with marketing initiatives to grow business
  • Responsible for overseeing the cleanliness of the resort
  • Monitors resort spending within budgetary guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years of practical management experience
  • 1 year of animal care experience or equivalent combination
  • Desire to work with and around animals
  • Ability to work rotating five day schedule including weekends, holidays, evenings/nights
