Job Description

Responsibilities The Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with the overall operation of the hotel while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and franchise standards. This position supports the achievement of Shaner's Core Values of

  • . The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership abilities, strong operational knowledge, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest and associate experiences.
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Assist the General Manager in achieving hotel financial goals and budget targets.
  • Ensure appropriate payroll and purchasing controls are maintained to support profitability.
  • Assist in developing and implementing short- and long-range financial and operational objectives consistent with property goals.
  • Ensure all Shaner and franchise operating standards are consistently followed.
  • Maintain a visible and accessible presence for guests and associates.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel features, room types, rates, availability, and expected arrivals and departures.
  • Respond to and resolve guest concerns and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist associates with their job functions to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality service.
  • Lead and support employee performance to promote productivity, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Establish, maintain, and train associates on standards and procedures related to cleanliness, safety, and proper working conditions across all departments.
  • Support initiatives to achieve and maintain strong scores for guest service, cleanliness, and other operational standards on Shaner and franchise inspections.
  • Monitor daily hotel operations and assist department leaders in maintaining service and operational standards.
  • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of management experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Valid Driver's License and Clear Driving Record
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests, management, and associates.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of hotel budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control practices.
  • Working knowledge of hotel operations and all major hotel departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with groups of guests or associates.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and carry out instructions effectively.
  • Working knowledge of property management systems.
  • Knowledge of local activities, attractions, and services appropriate for the hotel's clientele.
