Hotel Operations Manager Candlewood Suites - 3.2 Murfreesboro, TN Job Details Full-time From $16 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Position Summary The Operations Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for supporting the daily operations of the hotel while delivering exceptional guest service. This is a working management position, with the majority of scheduled hours spent assisting at the Front Desk and leading by example. In addition to front office responsibilities, the Operations Manager partners with the General Manager to oversee hotel operations, support all departments, ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, and develop a culture of accountability and teamwork. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with guests, coaching employees, solving operational challenges, and helping drive the overall success of the hotel.
Essential Responsibilities:
Front Desk Leadership As the primary leader of the Front Desk team, the Operations Manager will: Work scheduled Front Desk shifts as business needs require. Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service. Assist guests with check-in, check-out, reservations, billing, and guest requests. Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally. Ensure all front desk procedures are followed accurately. Coach team members during daily operations. Monitor shift balancing procedures. Support Night Audit operations as needed. Hotel Operations Assist the General Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the hotel by: Conducting daily property walks to ensure cleanliness, safety, and brand standards. Following up on maintenance requests and guest issues through Quore. Supporting Housekeeping and Maintenance departments during busy periods. Assisting with room readiness and communication between departments. Leadership & Team Development Help onboard and train new employees. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback. Lead daily stand-up meetings and shift huddles. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment. Hold team members accountable to company expectations. Guest Experience Create memorable guest experiences through proactive service. Build relationships with extended-stay guests. Identify guest needs and coordinate solutions across departments. Monitor guest satisfaction and online reviews. Implement service recovery efforts when needed. Promote a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business. Revenue & Sales Support Support hotel revenue goals by: Upselling room types and hotel amenities whenever appropriate. Identifying long-term guests who may qualify for negotiated corporate rates. Communicating in-house sales opportunities to the Sales Manager. Assisting with occupancy and inventory management. Administrative Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with: Employee scheduling using Homebase. Monthly hotel inspections. Brand compliance documentation. Quality Assurance & Brand Compliance Ensure compliance with all IHG Brand Standards. Help prepare for Quality Assurance inspections. Maintain inspection-ready conditions throughout the hotel. Monitor Quore usage and task completion. Ensure safety, security, and emergency procedures are followed. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum three years of hotel experience. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Strong organizational and communication abilities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Flexible schedule, including overnight, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Experience with IHG Hotels. HotelKey PMS experience. Quore experience. Homebase scheduling experience. Extended stay hotel experience. Previous Operations Supervisor or Front Office Manager experience Desired Skills Leadership Team Development Guest Recovery Conflict Resolution Coaching Time Management Organization Revenue Awareness Decision Making Professional Communication Attention to Detail Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Lift up to 30 pounds. Occasionally assist with luggage or hotel supplies. Work in various areas of the hotel as business demands require.
