Job Description
PawHaus Resort is a dog-first luxury resort opening January 2027 on 30 private lakefront acres near Lake Livingston, about 90 minutes north of Houston. Twelve high-end ÖÖD mirror house units, a dog park, a grooming spa, a camp store, and rotating food truck dining. Nothing like it exists in this market. We are the sister property with same owners to Cameron Ranch Glamping, one of Texas's most successful glamping operations. We are hiring an Assistant General Manager to run the property day to day, reporting directly to our Founder and CEO. About the role You are the resident leader of PawHaus. Ownership sets strategy, pricing, and brand. You make it real on the ground, every day. You start before we open, which is the best part of this job. You will help hire your own team, shape how the property runs, and set the standard from day one. This role is built as a fast track to General Manager. What you will do Run daily operations across housekeeping, maintenance, dog services, guest experience, and the camp store Manage and coach five leads: Housekeeping Lead, Maintenance Lead, Lead Dog Groomer, Dog Experience Specialist, and Customer Experience Specialists Own the guest and dog experience from pre-arrival through checkout Serve as Manager on Duty and own the property's daily operating rhythm Handle guest issues and service recovery directly Drive ancillary revenue through grooming, dog experiences, retail, and events Report KPIs to ownership: occupancy, guest satisfaction, and ancillary revenue Manage vendor coordination and supply ordering What we are looking for 3+ years in hotel or resort leadership (GM, AGM, Director of Operations, or department head). Luxury or boutique experience strongly preferred Proven experience managing and coaching a team of 4 or more Revenue-minded. You see guest experience and ancillary revenue as business drivers A genuine love of dogs. This is a dog-first resort and guests will know if you do not mean it Available on-site full-time in Goodrich, TX on a Thursday through Monday schedule preferably with opportunity to pick your schedule if you make it to GM. Path to General Manager This role is built to grow, and we are specific about how. As PawHaus proves out and we open Phase 2, your scope grows to include department heads and food and beverage. As our sister property folds into the operation, you step into the General Manager seat and own the P&L, with the compensation and ownership upside that comes with it. We build from within. Compensation and benefits $70,000 to $80,000 base salary Performance-based profit share tied to property performance and ancillary revenue $400 per month toward health coverage (QSEHRA) Paid time off On-site or nearby housing may be available for the right candidate if desired Employee discounts Clear, condition-based path to General Manager compensation Start date: October 15, 2026, ahead of our January 2027 opening.
