Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Hotel Negotiator is responsible for developing and maintaining preferred hotel partnerships and establishing Local Negotiated Rates (LNR) with hotels frequently used by the company. This position will work directly with hotel sales and revenue teams to negotiate competitive rates, favorable terms, and agreements that support client needs while maximizing cost savings. The ideal candidate will have extensive hotel industry experience and a strong understanding of hotel pricing, sales, revenue management, and contract negotiations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Negotiate and establish Local Negotiated Rates (LNR) with frequently used hotels. Develop and maintain strong relationships with hotel sales teams, revenue managers, and property leadership. Review hotel usage and booking needs to identify opportunities for new negotiated-rate agreements. Negotiate room rates, cancellation terms, fees, blackout dates, and other contract conditions. Work to secure competitive pricing while maintaining hotel availability and service standards for clients. Review existing hotel agreements and renegotiate rates and terms when appropriate. Compare hotel pricing and market conditions to support negotiation strategies. Track negotiated rates, agreements, renewal dates, and hotel contacts. Coordinate with Lodging, Sales, Accounting, and Operations to ensure negotiated rates are communicated and used correctly. Resolve rate discrepancies or contract-related issues directly with hotel partners. Identify opportunities to increase client savings and improve hotel partnerships. Maintain accurate records of negotiated agreements and related information. Provide regular updates on negotiations, savings, new agreements, and outstanding contracts.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong understanding of hotel pricing, sales, and revenue strategies. Ability to analyze rates and identify cost-saving opportunities. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfortable communicating and negotiating with hotel leadership. Ability to manage multiple negotiations and agreements simultaneously. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of hotel industry experience required. Previous experience in hotel sales, regional sales, revenue management, or a similar commercial hotel role strongly preferred. Experience negotiating hotel rates, corporate accounts, LNR agreements, or contracts preferred. Knowledge of hotel rate structures, market pricing, cancellation policies, and contract terms. Experience working with hotel sales and revenue management teams. Salesforce or similar CRM experience is a plus.
