POSITION REQUIRES PREVIOUS FULL SERVICE HOTEL BRAND EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
The General Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the hotel to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits. The hotel general manager plays a pivotal role in guest satisfaction by ensuring high standards of service, addressing guest and associate concerns promptly, and constantly seeking ways to enhance their experience . This role involves overseeing all departments to ensure they work in harmony and productively. The General Manager is directly responsible for meeting brand standards, guest experience, total revenue, gross operating profit, hotel positioning in marketing and revenue management, community relations, and associate experience.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals Ensures adherence to all Marriott brand standards and system requirements Preparation of and achievement of budget Managing owner expectations and communications Coordinates activities of departments within the hotel to ensure operational efficiency Directs and coordinates promotion of hotel services to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required Directs preparation of directives to Regional Director of Operations outlining policies, programs, or operational changes that need to be implemented Promotes hotel within local associations Performs other related duties as assigned by managementSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises managers within the department(s): Sales, Accounting, Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance, Food and Beverage, Catering. Indirectly supervises employees within the department(s) Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsQUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience Five years of previous General Manager experience at a hotel Marriott brand management experience preferredCOMPETENCIES
