The Home2 Suites & Tru by Hilton Madison East is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for our dual-branded hotel. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring our guests enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained hotel while leading preventative maintenance efforts and supporting operational excellence across the property. What You'll Do Lead all hotel engineering, maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs. Maintain guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and hotel grounds to Hilton brand standards. Oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical equipment, laundry equipment, pools (if applicable), fire alarm, sprinkler, and life safety systems. Develop and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule to maximize equipment life and minimize downtime. Respond promptly to maintenance requests while providing outstanding service to both guests and fellow team members. Coordinate repairs and capital improvement projects with outside contractors and vendors. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local building codes, and Hilton brand requirements. Maintain maintenance records, work orders, inspections, and equipment documentation. Manage department expenses, purchasing, inventories, and engineering budgets. Recruit, train, coach, and develop engineering team members. Partner closely with the General Manager and department leaders to maintain an exceptional guest experience. What We're Looking For Previous hotel engineering or maintenance leadership experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems. Experience with preventative maintenance programs and hotel facilities. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and prioritize multiple maintenance projects. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call responsibilities as needed.
