This role requires an energetic, highly organized, hands-on leader who can effectively balance retail operations, hospitality, property management, and team leadership. The Manager serves as the face of the business, driving sales, controlling inventory, maintaining exceptional store and park standards, and fostering a welcoming environment for guests, customers, and community members. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, independent problem solver who is equally comfortable managing administrative responsibilities, overseeing reservations and retail systems, leading and developing staff, and addressing operational or maintenance issues throughout the property. Job Responsibilities Oversee all daily Maidu Mart operations, ensuring the store is clean, safe, fully stocked, profitable, and provides exceptional customer service. Manage inventory, merchandising, pricing, vendor relationships, cash controls, and overall store performance to maximize revenue and minimize loss. Monitor and manage the store's financial performance, including sales, expenses, inventory controls, and operational budgets. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, coach, and evaluate store employees while fostering a positive, productive work environment. Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including food safety, health, security, and age-restricted sales requirements. Maintain all store equipment and coordinate repairs and maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operations. Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner. Supervise and support the RV Park Supervisor, providing guidance, leadership, and accountability for park operations, guest satisfaction, maintenance standards, and occupancy goals. Collaborate with the RV Park Supervisor to develop operational improvements, enhance guest experiences, and ensure consistent service standards across both businesses. Assist with strategic planning, marketing initiatives, community engagement, special events, and promotional campaigns to increase store sales and RV park occupancy. Review RV park operational reports, financial performance, occupancy trends, and guest feedback, recommending improvements and growth opportunities. Prepare reports, budgets, and business recommendations for Tribal Council and management as requested. Support the development and implementation of long-term business strategies for both the Maidu Mart and RV Park. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Retail Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, or a related industry. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience with responsibility for hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Experience managing budgets, sales performance, inventory, and operational costs. Valid California Driver's License and insurable driving record. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call situations. Ability to pass a background check in accordance with Tribal and organizational policies. Strong leadership, team-building, and employee development skills. Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities. Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising principles. Financial management skills, including cash handling, budgeting, and profit-and-loss analysis. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Experience with point-of-sale (POS), inventory, scheduling, and reservation software systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Ability to build positive relationships with guests, employees, vendors, and community partners. Marketing, promotion, and community engagement experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a convenience store, fuel station, campground, RV park, hotel, or similar hospitality operations. Experience supervising multiple departments, locations, or business functions. Knowledge of campground, RV park, or reservation management systems. Experience with marketing, social media management, and community outreach. Familiarity with Tribal government operations and Native American community values. Special Requirements Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Preference given to qualified Native American Indians under the Federal Indian Preference Act, (43 CFR, 17.3 (d)).
