Full-Time Housekeeping Manager Township - 4.0 Ontario, CA Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $73,080 a year 5 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications Spanish Customer communication Budget management Team leadership English Full Job Description Full-Time Housekeeping Manager Ontario Mills Mall — Ontario, CA We are an established commercial building services contractor seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to oversee housekeeping operations at Ontario Mills Mall. This is a hands-on management position responsible for leading a large, diverse housekeeping team while maintaining the high standards expected in a major retail environment. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, organizational, and customer-service skills and must be comfortable working directly with mall management, employees, supervisors, and company leadership. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of janitorial, housekeeping, facilities, retail property, hospitality, or related management experience , preferably in a large commercial property or shopping center environment. This position requires schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays as needed, as well as availability to respond to urgent operational issues outside normal working hours. Responsibilities Directly oversee approximately 30 housekeeping employees , including day, evening, and overnight operations. Create and maintain weekly employee schedules based on staffing levels, mall operating requirements, call-outs, special projects, and client needs. Maintain appropriate staffing coverage while controlling overtime and remaining within the site's approved labor budget. Perform basic Paycom timekeeping administration , including: Reviewing employee punches and timecards Identifying missed or incorrect punches Verifying employee hours Reviewing attendance and timekeeping exceptions Coordinating necessary payroll corrections Monitor employee attendance and promptly address call-outs, no-call/no-shows, tardiness, and staffing shortages. Coach, counsel, and discipline employees who fail to meet company performance standards, attendance requirements, safety procedures, or workplace policies. Ensure required meal periods and employee scheduling practices are properly followed. Conduct daily inspections of the property to verify that contractual housekeeping requirements and client expectations are being met. Assign employees to specific areas and adjust staffing throughout the day based on mall traffic, cleanliness conditions, incidents, and customer needs. Maintain high standards for common-area cleaning, restroom cleanliness, floor care, entrances, exterior areas, and other assigned portions of the property. Oversee floor-care and specialty cleaning operations, including the proper use of commercial equipment such as: Ride-on and walk-behind floor scrubbers Pressure-washing equipment Commercial vacuums and related housekeeping equipment Ensure employees are properly trained on equipment operation, chemical use, PPE, and safe work practices. Monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs, maintenance, or replacement when necessary. Conduct and document monthly employee safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices during daily operations. Respond immediately to spills, accidents, cleanliness concerns, customer complaints, and other urgent housekeeping issues. Investigate client complaints, determine the root cause, and implement corrective action. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Ontario Mills Mall Management and other client representatives. Communicate regularly with mall management regarding property conditions, staffing, special projects, incidents, and operational concerns. Maintain clear documentation regarding employee performance, incidents, inspections, corrective actions, and significant operational issues. Monitor janitorial supplies, chemicals, consumables, and equipment to ensure the operation remains properly stocked without unnecessary spending. Strictly monitor the site's weekly operating budget and identify opportunities to control labor, supply, and operational costs. Identify opportunities for additional services, special projects, pressure washing, floor work, or other revenue opportunities within the existing client relationship. Coordinate special cleaning projects and mall events when additional housekeeping support is required. Work closely with company operations, payroll, human resources, customer service teams, and senior management. Provide regular updates regarding staffing, employee performance, client concerns, equipment issues, and overall site conditions. Maintain a professional management presence throughout the property and lead by example. Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish required Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience in janitorial services, housekeeping, facilities management, hospitality, retail property operations, or a related field Experience supervising a large hourly workforce strongly preferred Shopping center or large commercial property experience preferred
B.A./B.S.
degree preferred but not required Strong leadership and employee-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer-service and client-relationship skills Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and computerized timekeeping systems Experience with Paycom or similar payroll/timekeeping software preferred Ability to create and manage employee schedules Ability to understand labor hours, overtime, staffing budgets, and basic operational reporting Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Comfortable documenting employee performance issues and administering corrective action Ability to independently identify problems and implement practical solutions Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change throughout the day Ability to walk and remain on your feet for extended periods during an 8-hour shift Ability to push, pull, and/or lift approximately 25 lbs Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with employees, client representatives, and company management Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required by mall operations Must be available to respond to urgent operational issues and emergency calls outside normal business hours when necessary Must be able to pass a background check if required Must be at least 18 years of age What We Are Looking For This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable balancing people management, client service, housekeeping operations, scheduling, and budget control . The Housekeeping Manager is expected to know what is happening throughout the property, maintain regular communication with the client, hold employees accountable, and proactively address problems before they become client complaints. This is not strictly an office position. The manager will regularly walk the property, inspect employee work, respond to operational issues, interact with the client, and support the housekeeping team while also completing the administrative responsibilities necessary to operate the account successfully.Job Type:
