Job Description The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operations within the shopping mall to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. This role supervises housekeeping team members, ensures cleaning standards are consistently met, coordinates work assignments, and maintains compliance with health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, and direct the daily activities of the housekeeping team. Inspect mall common areas, restrooms, food court seating areas, play areas, vacant units, entrances, loading docks, and other public spaces to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained. Assign daily work schedules and prioritize tasks based on operational needs. Train, coach, and evaluate housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, equipment operation, customer service, and safety practices. Ensure prompt response to spills, emergencies, and customer service requests. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, and consumables; submit replenishment requests as needed. Ensure the safe and proper operation of cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, power washers, escalator cleaners, compactors, washers, dryers, and other custodial equipment. Conduct regular quality inspections and address performance issues to maintain high cleaning standards. Ensure interior and exterior waste receptacles are emptied regularly and trash compactors are operated safely. Coordinate with mall management, maintenance, security, and tenants regarding housekeeping needs and special events. Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and resolve housekeeping-related issues promptly. Maintain records of inspections, staff attendance, equipment maintenance, and supply usage. Enforce company policies, health and safety regulations, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with housekeeping duties as needed to support daily operations. Requirements and Skills Previous housekeeping experience, with supervisory or team lead experience preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to motivate, train, and supervise a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Customer-focused with a professional and positive attitude. Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures. Ability to inspect work and maintain high standards of cleanliness and quality. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Working knowledge of the English language. High school diploma or equivalent; additional supervisory or facilities management training is an asset.
