Mount Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Manchester, NH is a 120-bed facility offering short and long-term care in a warm and supportive atmosphere where residents are cared for according to their individual needs. We are proud to be a part of Catholic Charities New Hampshire's continuum of care. We are seeking a full time (40 hour/week) Director of Environmental Services, with management and Life Safety (CMS) experience, in a long-term care facility environment The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for ensuring that the facility is maintained in a safe, secure, and comfortable manner for residents, staff and visitors. They are also responsible for the supervision of all maintenance, housekeeping and laundry staff. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Earn additional pay of $2400 per year, if you are enrolled in another employer-sponsored health insurance plan Critical illness, accident, long-term disability, legal plan and pet insurance available Company-paid short-term disability and life insurance Flexible Spending Account 401K Plan, with 3% automatic employer contribution (after 1 year of employment) Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: The day-to-day coordination and oversight of the Environmental Services team and facility overall Manage a team, through the oversight of supervisors, of the housekeeping and laundry departments to include scheduling, hiring, completing of performance reviews, etc. Manage a team of maintenance assistants to include scheduling, hiring, completing performance reviews, etc. Responsible for the maintenance of the facility, grounds, parking areas and driveways as needed Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc. Oversee the service of heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures Maintain the facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment and follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service Plow parking lots during snow storms using company vehicle Assist with resident transportation when needed by driving the company vehicle Maintain the building in accordance with CMS Life Safety guidelines; maintaining all recordkeeping of compliance Observe, report, and take corrective action to remedy any building or environmental condition that may be a safety hazard or require repair or maintenance Co-Chair and active member of Safety Committee Ensure that established Infection Control and Universal Precautions practices are maintained when performing maintenance, housekeeping and laundry procedures Observe, report and take corrective action to remedy any medical, resident care or other equipment that may be a safety hazard or require repair or maintenance Requirements; High School Diploma or equivalent required 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity Valid NH Drivers License Knowledge of building codes, Life Safety CMS regulations, and fire safety regulations Knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems Possess ability to make independent decisions and have leadership qualities All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin, marital or familial status, age or mental or physical handicap.
