Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring guest suites and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and brand compliance. This position plays a key role in maintaining quality control by inspecting cleaned rooms, coaching housekeeping staff, and assisting with guest requests. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of accountability, and a passion for creating a clean, comfortable guest experience. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Inspect cleaned guest suites to ensure they meet hotel and brand cleanliness and presentation standards. Verify that linens, amenities, and room setups are correct and consistent. Document inspection results and follow up on deficiencies with room attendants. Provide real-time feedback, guidance, and retraining to housekeeping team members as needed. Assist with onboarding and training new room attendants on proper cleaning procedures and standards. Support room attendants during high occupancy or staffing shortages. Report and resolve any cleanliness issues before guest check-in. Respond promptly and professionally to guest service requests and cleanliness concerns. Collaborate with the front desk and maintenance teams to prioritize room readiness. Ensure staff follow proper safety procedures and use cleaning products correctly. Report any maintenance or safety issues discovered during inspections. Help maintain accurate housekeeping logs and records.
Supervisory Duties:
Some supervisory duties may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner. The individual must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and guests and have a neat appearance to represent hotel positively with guests. The individual must be punctual, have a good attendance record, and have reliable means of transportation to work. Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. The typical shift for this position is 8:00am to 4:30pm
Work Environment:
This job operates in a Hotel environment. Hotels can be a stressful environment that require frequent, pleasant communication with others, effectively deal with guests, and accept constructive feedback from supervisors. This job requires a person is able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions. This role routinely uses cleaning chemicals and tools to clean guest rooms, public areas and food and beverage areas. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, and cleaning chemicals and a variety of different food items. Employee must follow all chemical MSDS guidelines. Work involves considerable exposure to steam, dirt, dust, fumes, bacteria and odors. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns.

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel or reach with hands and arms. Considerable repetitive motions of hands and wrists is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education/Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 6 months of hotel housekeeping experience or comparable cleaning/inspection experience in a professional setting
Preferred Education/Work Experience :
1+ year of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, preferably with prior inspection or supervisory duties Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and support Suitekeepers in meeting quality standards Experience working in extended stay or select service hotel environment Knowledge of linen care, laundry quality control, and proper room staging Proficiency in hotel property management systems
