2992009094-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Clean Harbors is seeking a Tank Inspector to join our Inspection, Certification & Quality Control team in the Environmental services industry. In this role, you will perform detailed inspections of aboveground and underground storage tanks, document condition and integrity, and verify compliance with environmental and safety regulations. You will prepare clear inspection reports, support repair recommendations, and collaborate with operations to minimize risk. Responsibilities Perform external and internal inspections of storage tanks and related equipment for integrity, corrosion, and structural condition Verify compliance with applicable environmental, safety, and tank integrity codes and standards Conduct and interpret non-destructive testing (NDT) such as UT, MT, PT, or RT as required Document findings through detailed inspection reports, sketches, photos, and digital records Recommend corrective actions, repairs, or replacement based on inspection results and regulatory requirements Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to schedule inspections and minimize downtime Ensure safe work practices, including confined space entry and adherence to Clean Harbors safety policies Maintain inspection equipment, calibration records, and data management systems Support regulatory audits and client reviews by providing technical inspection documentation Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving codes, standards, and environmental regulations Required Skills Tank inspection and integrity assessment API 653 standards knowledge Non-destructive testing (UT, MT, PT, RT) Reading engineering drawings and tank schematics Report writing and digital documentation Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA) Confined space entry procedures Corrosion mechanisms and defect identification Use of inspection tools (thickness gauges, pit gauges, etc.) Risk assessment and root cause analysis
