JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Housekeeping's primary responsibilities will include: Manage the housekeeping staff; providing open communications, training, coach and counsel and provide performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency. Display leadership qualities in regards to thinking clearly, quickly and making decisions. Ability to motivate managers and staff maintaining a cohesive team. Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping department. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of the department. Manage the selection, training and development of Housekeeping managers and Supervisors with a focus on maximum employee satisfaction, productivity and guest satisfaction. Represent the department at all regular scheduled Executive Committee and Staff meetings as they relate to the Housekeeping Department. Ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, as well as health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness. Monitor and ensure the Housekeeping Managers and Supervisors perform their job functions to the hotel's expected level of service. Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to minimum costs while providing excellent guest services. Conduct all manager and supervisor reviews as required. Meet regularly with manager and supervisors to review the progress of tracking systems and projects as well as the operating procedures to ensure a smooth flow of the housekeeping operation. Evaluate staffing requirements and prepare work schedules weekly adhering to budget goals. Ensure payroll is documented and submitted accurately and promptly. Ensure payroll forecasts are submitted accurately and promptly. Coordinate department's activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Insure that all employees meet policies and procedures and insure disciplinary guidelines are adhered to, up to and including termination of employment. Ensure all supplies are ordered with accurate usage factors and are received in a timely manner. Additional duties as necessary and assigned. Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping and laundry staff in details of work. Provide staffing, training, counseling, and performance reviews for housekeeping department. Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by hotel, which requires continuous visual inspection of guest rooms and public space areas including restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, etc. Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with OSHA regulations. Plan and conduct staff meetings. Attend various other related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.Job Type:
