The Housekeeping Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of housekeeping and laundry services to maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This position supervises housekeeping team members, ensures quality and regulatory compliance, manages staffing and supplies, and promotes exceptional customer service throughout the community. As a working supervisor, this role supports departmental operations while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, hospitality, and continuous improvement. The Housekeeping Supervisor partners with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to uphold Wesley's mission, values, and service standards. Find your sense of belonging at Wesley! You will provide continuing care through these responsibilities Essential functions of this position include the following. Leadership Team Development Supervise, coach, train, and support housekeeping employees to maintain departmental service and performance standards. Create and manage staff schedules based on occupancy, census, staffing levels, and operational needs. Conduct employee onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training programs. Document and facilitate required safety and compliance training. Provide ongoing performance coaching, feedback, recognition, and corrective action as appropriate. Assist with recruitment activities, including interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new employees. Promote employee engagement, teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture. Lead department meetings, huddles, and communication efforts. Housekeeping Laundry Operations Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations throughout residential and common areas. Ensure assigned work is completed according to established quality, cleanliness, and sanitation standards. Maintain sanitization and cleanliness of resident apartments, public spaces, offices, and support areas. Assist with apartment turnover preparation, move-ins, project cleaning, and departmental operations as needed. Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and service concerns. Support resident satisfaction initiatives through exceptional service delivery and hospitality. Quality, Safety Compliance Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved. Monitor compliance with infection prevention protocols, environmental services standards, and organizational policies. Promote safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment. Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Investigate and report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, and near-miss events according to established procedures. Support emergency preparedness and response activities as assigned. Inventory Resource Management Order, inventory, and maintain supplies, equipment, and storage areas in a secure, safe, and organized manner. Monitor inventory levels and support responsible stewardship of departmental resources. Coordinate equipment maintenance and replacement needs. Support budget management through supply utilization and cost-control efforts. Continuous Improvement Recommend, support, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance resident satisfaction, employee engagement, safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Maintain required departmental records, reports, and documentation. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Our requirements and qualifications for success Required High school diploma or equivalent. Two or more years of experience in housekeeping, environmental services, healthcare support services, hospitality, or a related field. One or more years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience. Understanding of cleaning protocols, sanitization practices, and infection prevention standards. A service-oriented approach to work; Strong organizational skills including planning, follow-through, prioritization, and time management. Ability to understand and communicate (speak and write) in the English language. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook. Basic technology skills include use of mobile applications and electronic systems. Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements. Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience in senior living, healthcare, long-term care, or hospitality environments. Two or more years of supervisory experience with responsibilities including scheduling, training, quality assurance, conflict resolution, and performance management. Experience with inventory management and supply ordering systems. Bilingual or multilingual communication skills. Physical, environmental, and mental requirements Ability to move around campus frequently throughout the workday. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Using proper body mechanics, must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements as necessary. Ability to safely operate housekeeping and laundry equipment. Ability to perform work in environments where cleaning chemicals and related products are regularly used. Ability to utilize physical strength and endurance required to support departmental operations. Ability to perform work while residents, visitors, and employees are present and subject to interruptions. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies.
Salary Range:
$26.04 to $37.53 per hour
