Overview Hope Church CEC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our educational team as Custodian. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated to keep the facility clean while fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. This position requires promptness and keen attention to detail. The Child Enrichment Center of Hope, A Community Church offers a Christian work environment.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to Child Enrichment Center Director and the Facilities Manager of Hope Church. All positions fall under the supervision and authority of the CEC Board and the SPRC Committee of Hope Church.

Position Requirements and Skills:

This position requires a working knowledge of basic custodial responsibilities and the equipment needed to accomplish those responsibilities. Ability to relate to people in a Christ-like, caring manner is essential. Experience in a custodial position, preferably in a church setting, is desired. This position requires the person to be a committed Christian. Membership in Hope Church is not required, but the person is expected to be an active church member in a Christian based church.

Daily Responsibilities:

1. Empty all trashcans at least daily. (Some areas, especially the infant/toddler area may need more than once a day.) 2.

Clean Restrooms:

a. Clean toilets, urinals, and sinks with disinfectants twice daily. b. Sweep and mop floors. c. Clean walls and stalls. d. Replenish paper products, soap, and trash liners. e. Clean and disinfect mirrors and counter tops. 3.

Clean Classrooms:

a. Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum floors. b. You will be called upon to clean up after accidents. c. Clean and disinfect sinks. 4.

Dining Room and Kitchen:

a. Clean tables, chairs, highchairs, walls and floor after meals and snacks. b. Mop floors 5.

Hallways:

a. Sweep and mop daily and following accidents. b. Clean and disinfect water fountains.

Weekly Responsibilities:

1.

Classrooms:

a. Clean cabinets. b. Clean windows between classrooms and in doors. c. Clean baseboards. 2.

Hallways:

a. Clean baseboards and fire extinguishers. b. Clean windows in doors. 3.

Offices:

a. Vacuum b.

Dust Monthly Responsibilities:

1. Clean out the grease trap under the Kitchen sink. 2. Check for cobwebs in windows and corners. 3. Clean handprints from walls and doors (inside and out). 4. Wash windows. 5. Clean garbage cans. 6. Clean air-conditioner vents in classrooms and hallways.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Help other custodians on second and third floors. 2. Help other custodians in setting up fellowship hall for Wednesday nights, Sunday's and special events. 3. Set up and clean up for meetings and\or special events. 4. Check and replace burned out light bulbs. 5. Secure doors and turn off lights each day. 6. Help maintain security of the building. 7. Minor maintenance assigned by the Business Administrator. 8. Other tasks as assigned by the Child Enrichment Center Administrative Team.

Supplies:

1. You are responsible for keeping up with cleaning and paper supplies. Turn in your request to the Child Enrichment Center Director and / or Facilities Manager.

Items to check regularly include:
