A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

This is a continuous recruitment, and first review will occur on the first Wednesday of every month afterwards.

RC#901838 DESCRIPTION The purpose of this position is to perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning, and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Clean, sanitize and deodorize jail cells and restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets; clean and sanitize showers as assigned; maintain fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms. Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors using a variety of chemicals, cleansers and equipment; vacuum and shampoo carpets and upholstered furniture. Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors, walls and ceilings. Empty, clean and sanitize ashtrays and waste receptacles
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Some experience in cleaning and maintaining building interiors is desirable.
Education:
Requires formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Certifications, Licenses, and/or
Additional Requirement:
A valid driver's license is preferred Must pass a police background examination
