Schedule:
Evening Hours (Part-Time; schedule determined by business needs) Position Summary Bay Point Labs is seeking a dependable Part-Time Laboratory Janitorial Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment. This position performs routine cleaning and sanitation tasks while following laboratory safety procedures and applicable regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize laboratory benches, countertops, and work surfaces.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain laboratory and common area floors.
- Empty trash and replace liners.
- Assist with laboratory sample disposal following established procedures.
- Clean sinks, break areas, restrooms, and other designated areas.
- Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
- Ensure cleaning tasks are completed according to laboratory standards.
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment while following safety protocols. Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach.
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Push and pull cleaning equipment and trash containers.
- Use cleaning chemicals and supplies safely while wearing required PPE.
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience cleaning medical, laboratory, or healthcare facilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and proper chemical handling.
