Custodian Job Description The Custodian ensures the overall cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of the entire facility, including both office and production areas. This role maintains a clean and orderly environment for staff and visitors, monitors and replenishes supplies, and applies proper safety techniques so that daily custodial tasks are completed on schedule and in line with site expectations. Responsibilities Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment for all staff and visitors across office and production areas. Clean and sanitize all bathrooms in both office and plant areas, ensuring they remain hygienic and well stocked. Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing or waxing machines. Clean rugs, carpets, and furniture using appropriate equipment such as vacuum cleaners. Empty trash cans throughout the office and plant and dispose of waste in a safe and timely manner. Wash windows, door panels, and sills to maintain a clear and professional appearance. Replenish kitchen and bathroom supplies regularly so that essential items remain available. Maintain outside walkways and walking areas, including sweeping debris and placing mats when necessary to support safety. Keep janitorial areas neat, organized, and well maintained. Ensure all custodial equipment is maintained in proper working condition and report issues promptly. Apply proper safety techniques and storage methods when handling cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment. Monitor supply levels and partner with the supply chain team to reorder materials when stock falls below required levels. Support completion of daily custodial activities within scheduled timeframes, including working additional hours when needed. Essential Skills At least 1 year of custodial, janitorial, or related cleaning experience. Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing of various floor surfaces. Experience cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas. Ability to clean carpets, rugs, and furniture using vacuum cleaners and related equipment. Capability to safely operate powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Skill in cleaning windows, door panels, and sills to a high standard. Ability to manage trash removal and maintain waste areas in a clean and orderly condition. Strong awareness of safety techniques and proper storage methods for cleaning chemicals and equipment. Ability to monitor and maintain supply levels and communicate restocking needs. Willingness and ability to work a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work 1-2 hours of overtime and up to 5 hours on Saturdays when needed. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Comfort working in both office and production settings. Strong attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards. Good organizational skills to keep janitorial areas neat and supplies well arranged. Work Environment The role is based in a very large, clean manufacturing environment that produces interior components such as galleys, closets, lavatories, floor panels, class dividers, and sidewalls for aircraft interiors. You will work primarily on a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of occasional overtime of 1-2 hours on weekdays and up to 5 hours on Saturdays when needed. The facility includes both office spaces and production areas, and you will move between these settings to perform custodial tasks. The environment uses standard janitorial tools and powered floor machines, and you will work around manufacturing equipment and materials in a clean, well-maintained plant. Dress will be appropriate for a manufacturing and custodial setting, with practical attire and any required safety gear provided or specified by the employer. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
