Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Event Day Porter to assist with the setup, execution and clean-up of business-related events. Day Porters will work up to 20 hours per week , including some flexible hours around event schedules (early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed). The role includes physical tasks such as lifting 50-70 pounds , rearranging furniture, and assisting with day-of event support.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Setup & Logistics Assist in setting up and breaking down room layouts including tables, chairs, additional event equipment and AV items according to event floor plans. Safely lift, move, and transport heavy furniture and event equipment (up to 50-70 lbs). Assist with setting up, basic troubleshooting, organizing, and breaking down AV equipment (microphones, projectors, smart TVs, speakers, cables). Assist with room transitions, quick turnarounds between scheduled sessions, and seating adjustments. Facilities Maintenance & Sanitation Stock, clean, and continuously monitor restrooms during events to ensure supplies are full and facilities remain clean and hygienic. Actively patrol event spaces, hallways, lobbies, and entryways to pick up trash, wipe down surfaces, and immediately clean up spills or hazards. Routinely inspect and empty waste receptacles throughout the event and dispose of waste properly and replace trash bags as needed. Keep catering prep area rooms clean and organized during and after events. Storage & Post-Event Breakdown Carefully tear down, sanitize, and return all event furniture, AV equipment, and signage to designated storage areas. Maintain clean, safe, and organized storage closets, loading docks, and utility areas. Inspect facilities for any damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or safety hazards and report them promptly to the Director of Operations & Business Relations. Perform end-of-event safety checks and assist with venue closing procedures.
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate clearly and consistently with team members and Director of Operations & Business Relations Ability to safely lift and carry 50-70 lbs Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable, reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented Willingness to work flexible hours depending on event needs Must have flexibility to work weekends and early morning, late evening availability
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
