A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Description:
A Janitor, or Maintenance Associate, is responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins. A Janitor is in charge of keeping the workplace clean, organized and disinfected. They usually have the following responsibilities: Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls Disinfect commonly used items like door handles, carts, restrooms Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed Maintain outdoor grounds Remove debris from sidewalks and interior Empty trash and recycling binsRequirements:
Organized with a high attention to detail, consistently follows through on commitments Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple demands Communications skills- clear directions, good listener Experience serving the public Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality Prolonged standing, walking, squatting, and/or bending Ability to lift heavy boxes frequently up to 40 pounds and occasionally team lifting to 75 pounds Repetitive use
