About the Position Valley Janitorial provides commercial cleaning services to established businesses in the Stockton area. We are hiring a part-time janitor to join a two-person crew at one assigned client facility. The site includes both professional office space and an industrial shop area, so this role covers both environments. You will work alongside an experienced crew lead who will train you on the building and its standards. Once you are up to speed, the two of you will divide the work so the facility is finished on schedule. Part of the shift overlaps with client staff still finishing their day, so a friendly, low-key presence matters. We are looking for someone dependable who carries their share, communicates well with a partner, and takes pride in how the building looks when they walk out. What You Will Do Office and common areas Empty all trash and recycling containers, replace liners, and move waste to the designated dumpster Vacuum carpets in offices, hallways, conference rooms, and entryways Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop hard-surface floors Dust desks, work surfaces, ledges, window sills, partitions, and fixtures Clean interior glass, entry doors, and mirrors, spot-cleaning fingerprints and smudges Wipe and sanitize high-touch points, including door handles, light switches, railings, and elevator panels Restrooms Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, and partitions Restock paper towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, and seat covers Sweep and mop restroom floors, including corners and behind fixtures Report plumbing issues, leaks, or damage to the crew lead Break rooms and kitchens Clean and sanitize counters, tables, chairs, and sink areas Wipe down exterior of appliances (refrigerator, microwave, coffee equipment) Empty and sanitize trash receptacles Shop and warehouse areas Sweep and mop shop floors and walkways Clean shop restrooms and break areas to the same standard as office space Empty shop trash and waste containers Keep entry mats clean and properly placed Site and closing responsibilities Arrive on time and work through the assigned cleaning schedule for the facility Coordinate with the crew lead so tasks are divided and nothing gets missed Assist with closing procedures, including turning off lights and securing the building before leaving Track cleaning supply levels and let the crew lead know before anything runs out Report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or anything out of the ordinary at the facility Handle cleaning chemicals according to label directions and safety data sheets What You Need Reliable transportation to and from the facility, which is your responsibility Dependable attendance, which is the single most important part of this job Ability to work cooperatively with a crew partner and communicate clearly about what has and has not been done Ability to follow a written cleaning checklist with minimal supervision once trained A working smartphone, which you will use to clock in and out through our time tracking system at the start and end of your shift Willingness to learn our standards from an experienced crew lead Willingness to submit to a background check, since you will be working inside a client building with access to offices and equipment Ability to read and follow product labels and safety instructions Legal authorization to work in the United States Physical Requirements Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling for the full shift Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, such as trash bags, mop buckets, and supply cases Pushing and pulling vacuums, mop buckets, and supply carts Working with commercial cleaning chemicals in ventilated spaces Nice to Have Prior commercial, office, or industrial cleaning experience Experience cleaning both office space and shop or warehouse environments What We Offer Consistent weekday afternoon schedule with no weekends Hands-on training from an experienced crew lead, not a video and a mop Paid sick leave as required by California law Small, family-run company where your work is noticed and your schedule stays predictable Valley Janitorial & Cleaning Service is an equal opportunity employer.
