Role:
The Quality Inspector II is responsible for performing incoming, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections within the Stockton manufacturing facility. This role ensures products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements while supporting production throughput and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Perform incoming, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using applicable measuring and test equipment. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work orders, and customer requirements to verify product conformity. Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances; provide immediate feedback to operators and production personnel. Record inspection results and maintain quality records in manufacturing and quality management systems. Prioritize inspection activities based on production schedules and business needs. Support containment, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions related to quality issues. Assist with calibration awareness, control of inspection equipment, and compliance with quality procedures. Support ISO 9001 and other applicable quality management system requirements. Train and mentor less experienced inspectors and operators on inspection techniques and quality expectations. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in a sheet metal, machining, or manufacturing environment. Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gages, and indicators. Ability to read and interpret GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of metrology, inspection methodologies, plating, painting, and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with quality systems, documentation, and traceability requirements. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Computer proficiency and ability to maintain electronic quality records. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
