A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Summary We are seeking reliable Day custodians to join our team at Sargent Public School District. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. Your contributions will play a vital role in upholding our high standards of service. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and dusting. Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, hallways, and common areas. Handle waste disposal and recycling according to company policies. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as required. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management. Keeps the grounds tidy by assisting with mowing, weed control, and trash removal. This position would be a custodial and grounds/setting up for events with possible higher percentages of time toward grounds during the heavy fall mowing season. Requirements Previous experience in custodial or janitorial services preferred. Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and equipment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
