A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Internal applicants only Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Cafeteria Custodian at Nichols School. This part-time position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards. Responsibilities
  • Sweep and mop floors to ensure a tidy environment.
  • Dispose of all trash and recycling in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas when necessary.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe dining experience.
  • Collaborate with cafeteria supervisor and monitors to maintain cleanliness and organization. Requirements
  • Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform cleaning tasks as required.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours on early dismissal days.
  • Must pass a background check as a condition of employment. Job Details
