A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

As a Custodian, you will play an essential role in supporting students, staff, and visitors by ensuring that classrooms, offices, common areas, and outdoor spaces are well-maintained and ready for daily activities. From performing routine cleaning and floor care to reporting repair needs and completing minor maintenance tasks, your work will contribute directly to a positive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable and detail-oriented individual who values teamwork, takes initiative, and is committed to providing exceptional service while helping maintain a safe and attractive school campus. In your role as a Custodian, you will have the opportunity to: Perform custodial tasks and maintenance of areas such as classrooms, offices, auditoriums, wards, kitchens, dining rooms and lavatories including outdoor areas (i.e. trash around buildings); Dust, mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax and polish floors, shampoo carpets using appropriate equipment such as floor polishers and buffers; Wash, dust and polish glass including windows, woodwork, walls, furniture and metal equipment; Collect and dispose of all trash and recycling in the appropriate containers; Report needs for repairs; Perform minor maintenance; Inspect building for damage and report conditions to supervisor; Perform related duties as required.
