Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, proactive Custodian team member to help maintain our school's facilities and ensure a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position includes custodial duties as well as basic maintenance tasks, requiring a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, gym, and common areas Refill hygiene and cleaning supplies, remove trash, and sanitize surfaces Conduct general maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, door adjustments Assist with routine inspections of building systems and equipment Identify and report potential safety or repair issues to the Facilities Manager Support event setup and breakdown (e.g., furniture, AV equipment, tents, tables) Ensure sidewalks, entryways, and outdoor areas remain clear and safe Maintain all cleaning and maintenance tools in proper working order Follow all health and safety procedures and emergency protocols Skills and Qualifications Previous experience in custodial or general maintenance roles (school or institutional setting preferred) Ability to perform minor repairs, use hand tools, and operate cleaning equipment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day High school diploma or equivalent preferred Positive, service-minded attitude with a team-first mindset Benefits - (FT only) Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Schedule Monday to Friday - hours vary morning, afternoon to evening.
