The Custodian will perform daily cleaning, minor maintenance, yard duties, and assigned tasks in order to provide a clean and healthy learning environment in all school district facilities.DISTRICT EXPECTATIONS

- Support the district's vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan.

- Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.
Responsibilities:
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and burnish floors, as well as vacuums and shampoos carpets, as applicable; cleans, sanitizes, and stocks restrooms; cleans and dusts all horizontal and vertical surfaces as assigned; removes and disposes of waste products daily; maintains clean custodial closets.
- Performs minor non-cleaning maintenance tasks of facility, including but not limited to changing light bulbs, changing toilet seats, unclogging toilets, changing ceiling tiles, touching up paint, securing window(s), delivering supplies, setting up for facility activities/meetings, and assembling/moving furniture.
- Follows a lawn and facility maintenance program, including but not limited to mowing (pushing and/or riding), weeding, weed-eating, edging, trimming, fertilizing, minor plant replacement, mulching, blowing off sidewalks/curbs, watering, pressure washing, and graffiti removal, as appropriate.
- Opens or closes and secures facility, including but not limited to gates, doors, windows, and alarm systems. Turns on/off all lights, making sure that grounds and facility are free of debris and hazards. Responds to emergencies by securing the perimeter.
- Performs work duties independently and/or as part of a custodial crew depending upon the nature of the task, works cooperatively in group situations, exhibits tact and consideration, displays positive outlook and pleasant manner, offers assistance and support to co-workers, and works actively to resolve conflicts.
- Assumes modified duties and responsibilities of the Head Custodian or Custodial Crew Leader in the event of absence or vacancy.
- Possess basic comprehensive skills of the working English language.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
