Duties Execute comprehensive cleaning routines including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and sanitation of all designated areas. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and carpet extractors efficiently and safely. Implement cleaning and sanitation procedures in accordance with health standards to ensure environments are hygienic and safe. Perform laundry tasks as needed, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or uniforms. Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of furniture or equipment while adhering to proper manual handling techniques. Manage outdoor work responsibilities like sweeping walkways, cleaning exterior surfaces, and maintaining outdoor spaces. Communicate effectively with clients or residents to understand specific cleaning needs and provide excellent customer service. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies including detergents and cleaning agents; reorder supplies before running out. Document completed tasks accurately in logs or reports; ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations. Support housekeeping management by assisting with scheduling or training new team members when required. Experience Proven janitorial or custodial experience in residential or commercial settings is preferred. Familiarity with cleaning detergents, disinfectants, and proper usage techniques for various surfaces. Experience with floor care methods such as sweeping, mopping, polishing, and carpet cleaning is highly desirable. Knowledge of sanitation standards and procedures for maintaining hygiene in different environments. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple locations or shifts. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual handling tasks comfortably. Outdoor work experience is a plus for roles involving exterior maintenance responsibilities. Excellent client communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction through attentive service. Previous housekeeping management experience is advantageous for supervisory roles within the cleaning team.
