A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs detailed cleaning and sanitization of restrooms, breakroom, offices, common areas, aisles, outdoor areas, and other assigned spaces. Performs routine janitorial duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning glass and windows, disinfecting fixtures and surfaces, removing trash, and replenishing supplies. Performs deep-cleaning and higher-detail projects beyond routine daily cleaning, including walls, doors, baseboards, fixtures, floors, equipment, high-touch areas, and other areas requiring additional attention. Regularly assesses facility cleanliness, identifies areas that were missed or require additional attention, and completes necessary follow-up cleaning to maintain established standards. Provides additional cleaning support and backup coverage for Janitors as needed to ensure work is completed thoroughly and timely. Responds promptly to spills, urgent cleaning needs, special projects, and other facility needs. Identifies and promptly reports maintenance, repair, safety, or facility concerns to management. Monitors janitorial products and supplies and proactively notifies the Director of Human Resources and Purchasing when supplies are low, require replenishment, or additional products are needed. Maintains cleaning tools, equipment, storage areas, and supply areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Communicates proactively with the Director of Human Resources regarding cleaning priorities, facility concerns, completed projects, supply needs, and significant issues. Maintains dependable and punctual attendance to ensure consistent daily facility coverage. Maintains professional, courteous, and positive working relationships with associates, visitors, vendors, and service providers and contributes positively to the workplace culture. Performs minor preventative maintenance or minor repairs within the scope of the position, assists service personnel as needed, and performs other related duties or special cleaning projects as assigned.
