Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Substitute Custodian to join our facilities maintenance team. Responsibilities Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold cleanliness standards. Handle various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical sprayers safely and effectively. Follow proper chemical handling safety procedures when using cleaning agents to ensure a safe environment for all staff and visitors. Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices. Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to ensure a professional appearance. Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues promptly. Support the overall custodial team in maintaining a sanitized and organized environment that complies with safety protocols. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Experience with commercial cleaning equipment, including floor buffers and cleaning machines. Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety procedures related to chemical handling and heavy lifting.
