Custodial position beginning immediately.

Description:

Successful candidates will provide students and staff with a safe, clean, and comfortable school environment. The position of Custodian at Sage International School requires that the successful candidate:

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED Minimum experience in cleaning methods and procedures, housekeeping, and proper handling of materials Ability to do general cleaning Ability to perform long periods of standing; walking; climbing; stooping; kneeling; bending and twisting at the neck and trunk; moving of furniture; pushing/pulling items such as tables, bleachers, and scrubbing machines; frequent lifting of objects weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally move objects weighing up to ninety pounds; and climbing ladders Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, to reach above the head and reach forward, to grasp tools Self-motivated Works well under pressure and deadlines Works well with students and staff Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Maintain confidentiality of staff and students

Major Duties:

Set up cafeteria tables and seating areas prior to lunch service. Wipe and sanitize cafeteria tables throughout lunch. Sweep and mop cafeteria floors during and after lunch service. Clean and sanitize restrooms as every hour throughout the shift. Restock restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other supplies. Empty outside trash and recycling receptacles. Pick up litter and debris around exterior areas and building entrances. Sweep exterior entrance ways and vacuum high-traffic areas. Clean and maintain staff lounges throughout the day. Wipe tables, countertops, and other high-touch surfaces in staff lounges. Empty trash and recycling in staff lounges. Sweep and mop staff lounge floors as needed. Wipe and clean windows, doors, and entrance glass. Monitor common areas for spills, trash, debris, or other cleaning needs. Respond promptly to spills and other unexpected cleaning needs. Report maintenance concerns, damage, leaks, pest issues, or unsafe conditions to the Facilities Manager. Follow all school safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures. Perform other custodial and facility-related duties as assigned.
