A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Alsip, Hazelgreen & Oak Lawn School District 126 Clean and maintain inside and oustide of all buildings in the district. Perform minor mechanical jobs as directed. Clean and monitor boiler room/storage rooms, etc. Unload trucks with supplies/equipment

some heavy lifting required.

Perform other jobs and duties as directed by the building principal such as set up for assemblies, move supplies within the school, remove trash from exterior grounds, eliminate health safety hazards, broken glass, ice, snow, etc. Work with the Chief of Maintenance and principal and staff to actively create and maintain a safe work and learning environment for students, staff, and the public in all district schools and on all district grounds. The normal hours for this position are 3:00
