A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Monday-Friday 5:00pm-8:30pm | Occasional weekend hours may be required for facility rentals, special events, or additional cleaning needs. Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hardworking Janitorial Staff member to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our facility. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, manage their time effectively, and complete cleaning tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, offices, classrooms, and activity spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors. Empty trash and recycling containers. Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed. Clean windows, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces. Set up and clean up areas for programs, meetings, and special events. Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to supervisors. Ensure facility cleanliness meets organizational standards. Perform additional cleaning duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications We Are Looking For Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks within designated timeframes. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift. Additional Schedule Expectations While the regular schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM , employees may occasionally be required to work weekends when the facility is rented for private events or when additional cleaning services are needed, such as restroom cleaning or preparing/cleaning event spaces. Preferred Qualifications Previous janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred but not required. Experience working in schools, community centers, or recreational facilities is a plus.
