A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.
Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitorial Team Member to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout our assigned facilities. In this role, you will perform routine cleaning, debris removal, and sanitation tasks to ensure all areas meet company standards for cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will follow all company procedures, safety protocols, and customer requirements while supporting operational efficiency and teamwork.
Duties & Responsibilities Routine Cleaning:
Sweep, mop, dust, and remove trash across designated facility zones.
Restroom Sanitation:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, mirrors, toilets, floors, and dispensers.
Supply Management:
Monitor and refill restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Detailed Detailing:
Clean vents, fixtures, entrances, thresholds, frames, and facility surfaces.
Debris Removal:
Clear dust, dirt, and debris from work areas to uphold strict sanitation standards.
Safety & PPE:
Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Compliance:
Adhere strictly to company cleaning standards, operational procedures, and customer site requirements.
Team Communication:
Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding work progress and needs.
Workplace Organization:
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
Instruction Adherence:
Follow written and verbal instructions related to specific cleaning assignments.
Training:
Participate actively in required training sessions and on-the-job training (OJT).
Team Support:
Foster teamwork and cooperate with other personnel to complete tasks efficiently.
Timekeeping:
Accurately clock in and out according to company timekeeping procedures.
Professionalism:
Maintain professional behavior when interacting with building occupants and customer representatives.
General Duties:
Perform additional cleaning tasks or operational duties as assigned by management. Work Expectations Maintain consistent attendance and strict punctuality. Follow assigned cleaning schedules and established operational procedures. Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting performance expectations. Qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is a plus, but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Physical capacity to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry cleaning equipment for the duration of the shift.
