What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Job Description
The custodial staff at Merrell Bros., Inc. plays a very important role in helping improve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in our mechanical shop. Cleaning, maintenance, and organizational experience preferred. Responsibilities Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by removing trash, cleaning equipment & tools, and cleaning/dusting surfaces Sweep/mop floors and vacuum carpets; use of industrial floor scrubber Pressure washing bays Fueling Fleet Vehicles Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap) Wipe mirrors and windows Maintain outer premises by cleaning entrances, emptying trash receptacles Perform maintenance and minor repairs as needed (fixing door handles, minor leaks etc.) Report major damages to management Assist with other tasks to improve the overall efficiency
