The 2nd Shift Cleaner is responsible for performing janitorial and industrial cleaning duties throughout the facility with a primary focus on cleaning equipment, machinery, buildings, and work areas. This position helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by removing dirt, grease, oil, debris, and other materials from equipment and facility grounds.

Monday-Friday 4:00pm-12:30pm, Rotating Saturdays, Overtime as needed
Pay :

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and maintain industrial equipment, machinery, and production areas. Remove grease, oil, residue, dust, and other buildup from equipment and surrounding work areas. Sweep, mop, scrub, and clean floors throughout the facility, including around machinery and workstations. Perform general janitorial duties including collecting trash, emptying receptacles, cleaning restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas as assigned. Clean windows, doors, walls, railings, and other facility surfaces as needed. Maintain exterior grounds by picking up litter, raking, shoveling, and assisting with snow removal when necessary. Operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Use an air wand to remove dust and debris from designated areas. Operate equipment such as a manlift, skid loader, skid steer, and forklift after receiving appropriate training. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed. Follow all company safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals. Assist with miscellaneous facility cleaning and housekeeping projects as assigned. Perform all other duties as assigned. Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to safely operate hand cleaning tools including mops, brooms, brushes, shovels, and rakes. Ability to safely operate power cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers. Ability to safely operate a manlift, skid loader, skid steer, forklift, and air wand after training. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of or willingness to learn proper use of industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment. Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workplace. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting throughout the shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in a dirty, dusty, noisy, and industrial environment. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat, steel-toe boots, and any additional PPE required. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous industrial cleaning, janitorial, or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating forklifts, skid loaders, manlifts, or similar industrial equipment. Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, recycling, or scrap metal environment. Work Environment This position is performed in an industrial scrap metal recycling facility. Employees should expect exposure to moving mechanical equipment, loud noise, dust, dirt, grease, vibration, changing temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions. Compliance with all company safety policies and PPE requirements is mandatory.
